It is the only battleship to survive that has fought the Nazis and the Japanese Army in World War II.
The USS Texas's greatest problem in recent years has been its leaky
and rusty hull, which at times required workers to pump out
approximately 2,000 gallons (7.570 liters) water from the 110-year old ship.
The foundation is towing the ship from its Houston Ship Channel home Wednesday
to Galveston to make repairs and ensure that the historic vessel doesn’t sink.
