Queen Elizabeth II will skip her the much-loved Highland Games event

LONDON -The Queen Elizabeth II is avoiding this year's Braemar Gathering, which is a renowned Highl 

and Games event she loves and goes to every year in the midst of her ongoing struggle with issues with getting around.

The monarch, who is 96 years old, earlier this week made a decision to officially name the new British premier on Tuesday

at the palace of her Balmoral Castle in Scotland, in which she is currently enjoying a vacation instead of 

having to take the nearly 800-mile journey round journey to London to take part in an official ceremony held in Buckingham Palace.

Her son who is the eldest, and also the heir Prince Charles typically accompany his monarch during the Highland Games, will attend in her place.
